A couple changes have been made to the holiday mini sessions. Please check them out!

I rarely take my camera out other than for portrait sessions. Its big, bulky and HEAVY – but I also miss all the little things I used to love. I decided to take my camera with me for a day so I could try to appreciate the little things in life again. Here is how a day goes for me!

First stop – STARBUCKS. I get Starbucks a couple times a week. Gotta have some barista love here!

After we got our caffeine fix we drove around a bit. I love driving around looking for new locations and found one! Awesome! So I made my husband pose for me… then I gave a quick rundown on how to use it so he could take a pic of ME! Pics of me are so rare since Im always on the other side of the camera! Also caught a turkey crossing the road *insert lame joke here*.

Next stop – Fountains! I love this place. They have the BEST shopping and food! We went to my favorite store ever – ZGallerie. OMG I could seriously blow some cash here! (Doesnt help that Im going to be redecorating the bedroom) LOVE it. And a stop at Tres Agavez for lunch (1/2 eaten before I remembered to take a photo! lol) and a margarita!

After lunch and some window shopping we decided to head down the street for a game of mini-golf. To which I lost – 38 to 52.. darn those hole in ones! Helps him that he just got back from a golf weekend with the boys! Played a few games and won some dinosaurs and army men. =D

We decided that we should head over to the movie store and rent a couple flicks. Settled on The Runaways (great movie about the all girl band!) and The Young Victoria… a period piece. I LOVE period pieces!!! After that we headed to the grocery store for some ice cream to have while watching our movies!

After watching The Runaways we decided to go for a walk. Stopped by my friends house to say hi and then kept walking. A train was coming as we crossed the tracks – love this shot! We somehow ended up at the neighborhood bar and played a couple games of pool (where once again I lost! lol) and some old school Donkey Kong!

All in all it was a good day. I did get some odd stares and questions about why Im taking random photos of random stuff with this big pro camera but most thought it was cool once I told them what I was doing! Hope you enjoyed this random Sunday!

This was my first try at taking photos of fireworks with a DSLR. I played around with shutter speeds to get different effects.
